Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 February 2026
Adishl (Semantic Handoff Lab) is a music web app that uses YouTube playback
and Auth0 sign-in. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, and the
choices you have.
Information We Collect
-
Account details: name, email address, profile picture,
locale, and an Auth0 user identifier returned by your identity provider
(for example, Google). Access and refresh tokens are stored in your
encrypted session so we can keep you signed in and refresh tokens when
needed.
-
Service usage: search terms you enter, playback requests,
and other calls made through our APIs. These requests are relayed to the
YouTube Data API to return results and are not written to our database.
-
User-generated content: lyrics and song meanings you save
in the editors. These entries are stored with the related song version but
are not linked to a personal profile.
-
Device and connection data: standard HTTP information such
as browser type and IP address that accompanies requests. We use this for
security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
-
On-device data: your playback queue, last played video,
playback position, volume level, repeat setting, recently played list, and
draft timestamps for lyrics and meanings are stored locally in your
browser (localStorage). The service worker also caches static files to
improve load times and offline support. This data stays on your device
unless you choose to clear it.
How We Use Information
- Authenticate you through Auth0 and maintain a secure session, including token refresh.
- Provide search, recommendations, and playback by calling the YouTube Data API and loading the official YouTube player.
- Restore your queue and playback state on the device so you can continue where you left off.
- Protect the service from abuse and ensure reliability.
We do not sell or rent personal data or use it for targeted advertising.
Sharing and Third Parties
- Auth0: handles login and receives the authentication data described above. See Auth0's privacy notice for details.
- Google/YouTube: when you search or play music, the required data is sent to Google under the YouTube Data API and embedded player. Your use of YouTube is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Hosting and infrastructure: our hosting provider processes requests and may temporarily log IP addresses and error details to operate the service.
Cookies, Local Storage, and Caching
- Session cookie: secure, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax cookies keep you signed in and tie your session to Auth0 tokens.
- LocalStorage: used on your device for queue state, volume, last played video, recently played list, and editor draft timestamps.
- Service worker cache: stores static assets (HTML, CSS, JS, icons) to speed up loading and provide limited offline use.
- Disabling cookies will prevent login and may break playback. You can clear local storage or cached files at any time via your browser settings.
Data Retention
- Session and refresh tokens remain until you log out or the session expires.
- Lyrics and meanings you save stay in our database until you ask us to remove them.
- On-device data (localStorage and caches) stays only on your browser until you clear it.
Your Choices and Access
- View your profile and log out from the Account page.
- Request deletion of your session data or stored lyrics/meanings by emailing adigreathai@gmail.com with the email you use to sign in.
- Revoke Adishl's access from your identity provider (for Google accounts, visit https://myaccount.google.com/permissions) and sign out to invalidate tokens.
What We Do Not Collect
- We do not track your precise location.
- We do not record audio or video from your device.
- We do not monitor activity outside of Adishl.
Keeping Your Information Secure
We use HTTPS, Auth0-managed identity, and secure session cookies to protect
your information. While no system is perfectly secure, we work to guard your
data against unauthorized access.
Children's Privacy
Adishl is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect
personal data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated"
date above will change. If a change materially affects how your data is used,
we may prompt you to review and accept the updated policy before continuing to
use Adishl.
